I know it's a bit early to have a mishap I know, but I need to tell you about it.
Before I left my wife and I decided to go to Moruya (next town North of us) and stay in the caravan for a night as we had to go there anyway.
We stayed on the river just north of Moruya and halfway through the night My wife woke me and said she thought someone was outside as she thought she felt the van move. I sat up an listened for a bit (I don't know why, I as deaf as a beetle). Couldn't hear any thing and I was still 3/4 still asleep so I went bact to bed.
The next morning when I awoke it played in my mind and I quickly went outside and checked everything only to find my lovely electric mountain bike missing of the rack on the front of the van along with the lock and chain. I was not a happy camper. Anyway the idiots wouldn't have realised it was electric as their was no battery fitted and it would be like a brick to ride, Also they need a charger, Probably cost $500-$800 for that. Oh well I'm not dwelling non it, so when I got home I fitted up my old road bike that weighs fraction of the weight and cost me $30. A bloody lot cheaper than the electric one. I bet no one will steel this one.
Very easy trip up the Clyde Mountain. The cruiser certainly tows well, I even overtook a couple of slower vehicles halfway up the steeper grades.
My plan is to be off the road before 3pm if possible while traveling, but I left too late for that today, but I arrived at the Shoalhaven river camp site just past Braidwood (Werri Reserve) around 4. Nice spot here, I've stayed here quite a few times.
After enjoying a nice cup of coffee and feeling quite proud that I could hear the fridge working I went to have a wash only to find there was no water, Bugger! After investigating I discovered water on the ground outside. What happened was I left a tap at the A frame on and when I turned the power on for the water the pump had a merry old time pumping my whole water supply into the river. So the fridge I was so proud of hearing was the bloody water pump trying to telling me something. I told you I was deaf as a beetle.
No worries though, I carry a gerry can of water on the rear of the caravan as well as a 10 ltr container inside, and that's what I used to boil some water. I can pick plenty of water up along the way, no hassle just funny.
I no I will have forgotten something but can't think of anything at this stage.
Stopped at the Gundagi golf course. I've played here a few times back when they first opened. It's a fairly interesting course with the first a par five as tight as you'll ever see. I hit a good drive up well on the right in a ideal position and was still blocked out with overhanging trees.
I played 9 holes and really enjoyed the walk.
I filled up with water and stopped over night at a nice RV rest area right beside the town center with a nice view of the old railway bridge.
Very nice of the council to supply this, much appreciated.
I'm sure everyone drops into Tumut especially to see Vern and Jeanette Walsh (my sister).
She makes the best slices and has the freezer stacked with them especially for me!
Whenever I'm there she always has someone else drop in, if not someone will ring.
She gets more visits in a couple of days then I get in a year, and that's a fact.
Always great to see.
Yes that's a well known poem that no one knows but everyone knows that catch cry.
This is my original home town. Always great to come back to.
I have a lot of family here and a fair bit to do myself, so I'll stay here for about a week then I will feel like I've started my trip.
I'll be staying in the backyard of my daughter's place and I know she'll have a lot for me to do. But I enjoy that. I have two granddaughter's to spend some time with too. I'm really looking forward that.
