I arrived at Albury in the afternoon and headed straight to Havey Norman and bought myself a new laptop, wifi and data. Should be right to go now.
I court up with my old friends Joe and Ann and watched Manly beat Canberra Yhooo! Ann cooked a nice meal as per usual. Joe and I always play golf whenever we are together but it was too wet this time. I slept the night in my van in front of their place and headed off towards Deniquilian the next morning.
I drove around Deni a bit and ended up at the golf course of course. Just checking it out as I do. Might come back for a game here. I couldn’t find a camp for the night so I drove on out towards Echuca and came across a small town called Mathoura. I camped the night in a small rest area and the next morning I was talking to a man who suggested I take the next turn left and try the camp area down by the river. So lets give that a go.
Nice place not many here, very peaceful and I think I'll stay here for a few day’s. I had to ring the Parks & Wildlife up and they charged me $6 for three nights! Bloody rip off. A bloke told me that the camp was free and the $6 is because of the virus??
It was so nice to finally be outside again as the weather was holding and even managed to send some sunshine through late in the evening. I had great fun setting up camp. Opening up the awning, putting the full floor mat out as well as chair, table etc. I even got out my fire pit that I modified to fit up under the back of the van and had a great night having a couple of bourbon's while the pizza was cooking in the BBQ and played some guitar. (why is everyone leaving?)
Stopped here for a couple of days in a nice little RV stopover in Echuca. I wasn't far away from a little 9 hole golf course called The Back 9. So naturally I went and played it. The first few holes were only very short and I was thinking 'yes it's very short' but the holes kept getting longer and longer. Nice little course to play. I walked around the Port of Echuca and enjoyed doing some photography (check them out)
